Provision of Renovations for the existing building at SARAO Artisan Training Centre Project in Carnarvon, Northern Cape, South Africa

SARAO invites the submission of quotations for suitably-qualified contractors for carrying out the renovations of the existing building for SARAO ATC Project at Carnarvon, Northern Cape, South Africa.
1. Deliverables/ Requirements
The scope of work for this category may include, but is not necessarily limited to, the following components as listed below:
- Construction of concrete ramp.
- Upgrade of the existing ablutions & kitchen.
- Internal & external walls to be re-painted.
- Existing floors to be re-decorated.
- Kitchenette, unisex & paraplegic bathroom to be added.
- Construction of roof sheeting at the atrium and repair identified existing roof damaged sections.
- Convert garage to accommodation.
2.1. SARAO has provided the following drawings:
- Annexure A: Existing main dwelling floor plan and elevation layout. – page 20
- Annexure B: Proposed main dwelling floor plan and elevation layout. – page 21
- Annexure C: Conceptual designs floor plans from the appointed architect. page 22 - 34
- Annexure D: Scope of work. 35 - 44
- Annexure E: Pricing Schedule. 35 - 44
2.2. Timelines
- The commencement date will be confirmed following the contract award of the successful bidder. All reports shall be provided three (3) months after commencement date.
2.3 Delivery format
- All reports/responses shall be provided to SARAO in electronic format (to tmothupi@sarao.ac.za and rdaka@sarao.ac.za ) on the closing date specified on the cover/first page.
COVID 19 SAFETY PROTOCOLS FOR CONTRACTORS EMPLOYEE’S: The contractor’s employees will be required present a COVID 19 vaccination certificate or negative PCR test which was obtained no longer than 48 hours prior to the service rendered at SARAO sites or offices.
