Provision of Fall Protection Plan and Working at Heights Risk Assessment to the two regions of SARAO

Occupational Health and Safety Act 85 of 1993 requires an employer to provide an environment free from hazards and in doing so, conduct an assessment of all possible hazards and risk elements in order to implement measures necessary to (1) prevent the risk from materialising and (2) reduce the severity and probability of the hazards. SARAO requires the services of a specialist to conduct and risk assessment of various @heights platforms and make recommendations that will address all fall risk hazards and protect employees. SARAO therefore invites the submission of quotations for the following:

• Conduct a comprehensive risk assessment in consultation with employees and Line Management of areas of focus at HartRAO, Klerefontein and Losberg Site
• Recommend procedures, training and general controls/ mitigation measures in line with the requirements of the Occupational Health and Safety Act 85 of 1993 and Regulations, as amended and Health and Safety Best practice. i.e., Type of awareness/Toolbox Talks, PPE, W@H Training & Procedures for the two sites
• Draft procedures, risk assessment and prepare a training matrix (Type of training and accreditation etc. for the two sites
• Prepare a specific Fall Protection Plan for the two sites

COVID 19 SAFETY PROTOCOLS FOR CONTRACTORS EMPLOYEE’S: The contractor’s employees will be required present a COVID 19 vaccination certificate or negative PCR test which was obtained no longer than 48 hours prior to the service rendered at SARAO sites or offices.
