Appointment of Operational Road and Air Emergency Service Provider to all SARAO Regions in Cape Town, Johannesburg-Observatory, Hartebeest and Carnarvon Site for period of three years

Description:

SARAO invites the submission of quotations for suitably-qualified operational Road and Air Emergency Service Provider,

Deliverables/ Requirements
The scope of work for this category may include, but is not necessarily limited to, the following components as listed below:
Deliverables:

  • A provision of 24 Hours Medical Information Line that will assist with lifesaving medical advice, medically trained professional to provide guidance in a medical crisis;
  • Provision of a contact centre that will immediately dispatch an appropriate road or air ambulance which is staffed by appropriately qualified emergency medical care providers offering incident, live saving support once at the scene;
  • Road transportation of an injured or ill patient to the closest appropriate facility utilizing ambulance;
  • Facilitating events in all SARAO sites;
  • Providing aeromedical evacuation services with an aircraft that is fully configured with critical care equipment and using state of the art technology to ensure the most effective patient care at all times;
  • Conducting an annual emergency mock drill;
  • Provision of a 24 hours telephonic trauma counselling;
  • Facilitate and the implementation of training for SARAO key health and safety personnel regarding the process to be followed in the event of medical emergency, including first aid training and specialized/advance health training;
  • To furnish marketing material such as emergency numbers stickers, ongoing Health information material, posters, additional information on health requirements; and
  • Responding to an emergency within 2-4 hours of a call

Timelines
The commencement date will be confirmed following contract award of the successful bidder.

Payment Terms
The awarded service provider will be paid on a work conducted basis

NB: The SARAO SCM office is open for delivery daily from 8am-3pm. Kindly ensure deliveries are made during these times only.
