1. Purpose

In April 2025, SARAO initiated a tender (NRF/SARAO SDP/01/2025-26) to expand MeerKAT Extension Project storage to 56 Petabytes. Although awarded in November 2025, the tender award was subsequently withdrawn following a 30.15% price increase driven by global component shortages.

Prior to republishing the tender, SARAO is requesting market data on current pricing and lead times to inform a robust procurement strategy and mitigate further inflationary risks.

2. Information Requested

Please provide information on the availability, current pricing, and lead times for the following storage needs detailed
in 2(i) - 2(vi) below.

Include standard lead times from order placement to delivery.

Include pricing projected from the date of your submission, up to a period of 4 months.

3. Submission Guidelines

Please submit your pricing matrix and availability report by, Friday, 10 July 2026 at 12.00pm.
