Appointment of Production Company for the development of Animation Video

Summary:

SARAO requires the services of a production company to create an animation video for the SARAO Human Resources division.

The full animation video will be no more than 8 minutes. The storyboard has been developed and will be supplied to the successful service provider. Voice-over will be required (text supplied). The service provider will be responsible to create animation visuals and characters to accompany the voice-over. Five (5) edit sessions with the content specialist will be required during the development of the video, before final completion and rendering. Animations to be generated in HD as a minimum, 4K preferred, all final delivered files to be MP4 in a minimum of Full HD, voice-over recording should meet broadcast standards with no audible room noise, plosives or device noise (hum, hiss, etc). Complete Induction Video, High Bitrate, in native production resolution, 5Mbps Bitrate, 720p resolution as well as separate exports of each module, High Bitrate, in native production resolution, 5Mbps Bitrate, 720p resolution. Balanced representation should be maintained for all on-screen characters, voice-over artist should ideally be a mature, female, South African voice that is nurturing, authoritative and relatable.

The NRF/SARAO logo should be displayed prominently and used throughout the scenes where possible in different formats, eg on screen, on a wall, on an item of clothing being worn by the characters. We should aim to use a female voice for the voice-over to come across as more friendly, not intimidating, and not too formal.

Non-proprietary, general business type, non-vocal background music can be used. Where possible, the colours used on the screen should include the NRF/SARAO logo colours - grey, white, blue, touches of red. The correct pantones and fonts can be provided. The characters should be employment equity characters, with a humoristic tone.
