Provision of Product Data Engineering Services for the SKA-Mid Dish Project

The short term services of a Product Data Engineer is required to provide specialized technical services to SARAO in support of the on-going work on the SKA Mid Dish towards successful achievement of a Critical Design Review (CDR). Completion of the SKA Dish Development work with its tight deadlines is critical for initiating construction of the MeerKAT Extension as well as successfully securing and initiating the SKA Mid Dish Engineering and Construction Contract for the SKA Mid telescope. In order to achieve these deadlines, the following services are immediately required:

  1. Auditing the Prototype SKA Dish (MPI Dish) “as-built” datapack, thereafter structuring and uploading it to the SKAO Configuration Management System (ALIM) in support of the SKA Dish Band1&Band2 CDR and MeerKAT Extension construction.
  2. Transferring the MeerKAT Extension Band 2 & Services “build-to” datapack from the sub-contractor CM system (ARAS) to the SKAO CM system (ALIM).
  3. Transferring 20-off MeerKAT Extension Band 2 & Services “As-Built” datapacks from the sub-contractor CM system (ARAS) to the SKAO CM system (ALIM).
  4. Structuring and uploading the SKA Mid Dish Structure into ALIM in support of a pending Critical Design Review.
  5. Structuring and uploading the SKA Mid Single Pixel Feed Receiver (SPFRx) into ALIM in support of a pending Critical Design Review.
  6. Completing (Closing out) the backlog of engineering changes related to items (a)-(e) above, through uploading and linking affected data items, updating engineering change statuses and processing open items for sign-off.

NOTE: These tasks are not necessarily listed in priority or order of execution: the Product Data Engineer will take guidance from the SARAO Systems Engineer regarding priorities and order of execution (which may involve certain tasks being executed in parallel.
